MP School Reopen: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday announced reopening of schools for class 11th and 12th in the state with half capacity from July 26 and gradually starting other classes after that. Chouhan made this announcement while dedicating a building of Vidya Bharati, a branch of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Bhopal on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister said, “It has been so many days for (students) sitting at home. Markets are open and movement has started. Children are also going to the market. That’s why we as a government are also feeling that schools should be opened from the week starting from 26th July. Classes of 11th and 12th will be started with half capacity.

He said that classes would be organized on alternate days for each batch of students. In this, one batch of students will attend classes on the first day and the second batch on the next day.

He said that initially schools should be held for four days in a week and then for six days. If all goes well by August 15 (regarding the third wave of the pandemic), we will gradually open other classes in schools.

He said that colleges will also be opened with half the capacity in a phased manner. Chouhan said that the state government is preparing a plan to open the school in view of the pandemic situation.

Claiming that the situation of corona virus infection in the state is under control, the Chief Minister said that the state government is preparing for the third wave. He said that the state government will start the process of reopening of classes 9th, 10th and then classes 6th to 8th and then the primary classes if people continue to follow the behavior as per the COVID-19 pandemic.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the program, Chouhan said that the cases of Kovid-19 have come down to 20 per day and the cases under treatment have also come down to 250.

He said that students are getting frustrated due to the closure of educational institutions and they now need real classes instead of online classes. School administrators are also facing problems. In such a situation, it has been decided to start the process of reopening the school.
