Despite the lockdown, job postings in all sectors increased by 6% in the last 6 months


According to the Monster Employment Report, job postings across all sectors have seen a 6% increase in job postings in the last six months, despite the second wave of the corona pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. The monthly growth in job postings from May 2021 to June 2021 is 4 percent while the yearly growth from June 2020 to June 2021 is 7 percent. According to the report, with the relaxation of the lockdown across the country, there was an improvement in recruitment in June 2021 as compared to May 2021. The annual growth of the telecom industry is 39 percent, while the recruitment of entry level job seekers has seen a growth of 6 percent.

Highest growth in recruitment in Bangalore

Bengaluru has registered the highest growth rate of 50 per cent in recruitment activity, followed by Pune with 28 per cent growth. On the other hand, both Hyderabad and Chennai have registered a growth rate of 22 percent individually.

14% in the production and manufacturing industry register monthly increase

Among the 27 industries surveyed by the report, the import/export sector saw a 25 percent increase in job postings, while the production and manufacturing industry saw a 14 percent monthly increase from the previous month. Along with this, there are some other industries in which job postings have increased since May 2021. These include Banking/Financial Services, Insurance, Telecom/ISP, Real Estate, Media and Entertainment.

Travel and tourism industry suffered due to Corona
The industry that recorded negative yearly growth from June 2020 to June 2021 due to the Kovid epidemic is travel and tourism. The graph of this industry has seen a decline of 42 percent. That is, the biggest impact of the corona epidemic Travel and tourism industry has been affected.

Bangalore in the Yearly Growth Ranking of Job Postings is on top

In the yearly growth ranking of job postings since June 2020-June 2021, Bangalore (50 per cent) has been at the top and Delhi at the lowest level (4 per cent). At the same time, with an increase of 7 percent, negative growth was seen in Tier-2 cities except Chandigarh.

The report also found that June saw positive monthly growth in job postings in roles such as finance and accounts (11 per cent), health care (10 per cent) and HR and admin (8 per cent).
