CBSE has announced the Special Assessment Scheme for the 10th and 12th board examinations from the academic session 2021-22. In fact, from the current 2021-22 academic session, CBSE will conduct the board examination of class X and XII in two parts, in which the questions of the first session will be objective and the questions of the second session will be subjective. There will be no overlapping of syllabus and on the basis of performance in both these exams final marks will be given which will have equal weightage.
The board on Monday issued detailed guidelines for the pandemic-affected academic session. However, according to a senior CBSE official, the scheme will continue as the board’s new evaluation system.
There will be an objective test in term 1 and a subjective test in term 2.
The first term objective test for the current session will be held in November-December 2021, while the second term exam with subjective questions will be held in March-April 2022. At the same time, a senior CBSE official said that, “When the situation becomes normal, the board will conduct Term I exam in October-November and Term II exam in February-March and for the entire syllabus.”
How will be the term-1 exam
Term I- The Board will conduct Term I examination in a flexible schedule with a window duration of 4-8 weeks for schools located in different parts of the country and abroad as per the guidelines of CBSE. The question paper will have multiple choice questions with a time limit of 90 minutes and for the duration of the pandemic, it will cover the rationalized syllabus of Term I only.
How will be the term-2 exam
Term II- At the end of second term, the board will conduct term II. The paper will be of 120 minutes duration and will have subjective questions of various formats. The official also said that, “If the situation does not remain favorable for the general descriptive exam due to Kovid-19, then the MCQ based exam of 90 minutes will also be conducted at the end of the exam term II.”
