Today we are going to tell you about IAS officer Tejashwi Rana, who once aspired to become an engineer. For this, he cleared the entrance exam of IIT. He also obtained an engineering degree from Kanpur IIT, but after that on the advice of his parents, he made up his mind to go to UPSC. He fulfilled his dream of becoming an IAS by securing All India Rank 12 in the 2016 UPSC exam.
Be smart in studies since childhood
Tejashwi Rana, a resident of Kurukshetra, Haryana, was very smart in studies since childhood. He also proved this by scoring very good marks in high school and intermediate. After Inter, he decided to make a career in engineering. After this he gave JEE exam and he got success in it. His rank was very good due to which he got IIT Kanpur. From here he completed his graduation.
Such was the journey of UPSC
In the year 2015, Tejashwi Rana took the UPSC exam for the first time. In this, he passed the pre-examination but did not get success in the mains. However, they came to know about the pattern of the exam from this. On the basis of this, he strengthened the preparation and made another attempt in a better way. This time luck favored him and he made a record by achieving All India Rank 12. In this way his UPSC journey was completed.

Tejashwi’s advice to other candidates
Tejashwi believes that first of all you should look at your syllabus thoroughly. Make a schedule of your studies accordingly and put it in front of you. Strengthen your basics with NCERT books. Choose the option wisely. Keep studying continuously and go through the previous year question papers. After completing the syllabus, give mock test paper and practice answer writing. By doing this you will be able to do better on the exam day.
