NEST 2021: National Entrance Screening Test postponed due to Corona, registration date also extended till July 15


New Delhi: The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST 2021) 2021 exam has been postponed in view of the situation of corona virus infection in the country. The registration date has also been extended till July 15. Candidates who have not yet applied for the exam can apply online through the official site of NEST at

The decision to postpone NEST 2021 was taken after reviewing the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated uncertainties. The new date of the exam will be announced later and the candidates will be informed about it.

Application process started on 24 February
The application process of NEST started on February 24, 2021. Earlier the entrance exam was scheduled for June 14 and the application deadline was June 7, 2021. The exam was scheduled to be conducted in two sessions, in which the first session was from 9 am to 12.30 pm and the second session was from 2.30 pm to 6 pm.

This exam is held in 90 cities of the country
The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is conducted for students seeking admission to the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and the Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Science (UM-DAE CEBS), University of Mumbai. This exam is conducted in 90 cities of India. The merit list of candidates is prepared separately for National Institute of Science Education and Research and University of Mumbai on the basis of performance in NEST.
