After the decision of the Central Government to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams, many states are under pressure to cancel the state board examinations as well. At the same time, the Karnataka government, which had earlier stuck to its decision to conduct both class 10 SSLC and class 12- PUC exams, can now review its order. According to officials, the final decision on SSLC and PUC examinations is expected soon.
Education Minister had told the 12th examination is necessary
Earlier on May 23, after a high-level meeting between the Center and the states, State Education Minister Suresh Kumar had said during an interview that it is very important to conduct the 12th examination. He had also said that conducting the PUC exam is an important and appropriate step in the interest of the future of the students.
On the other hand, the state government reiterated on May 17 that no decision has been taken to cancel the Karnataka SSLC and PUC Examination 2021. Class 10 and 12 exams have only been postponed and exams can be conducted in July or August.
Students Karnataka SSLC and PUC Demand for cancellation of exam 2021
After the decision of CBSE to cancel class 10 and now class 12 exams, now students in the state of Karnataka are also demanding to cancel the examinations. Students say that taking the example of CBSE, the state should also cancel the examination and alternatively A decision should be taken on the assessment. Many students have taken to Twitter to express their concerns. Some have also pointed to the situation in the state, which is one of the worst in the country.
