The center had a meeting with state education ministers and education secretaries under the chairmanship of Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in connection with conducting 12th class board examination. After this high-level meeting, Pokhriyal had asked the states to send their written suggestions regarding the 12th board examination by 25 May 2021.

It is worth noting that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had placed two options before the states for conducting class 12 board examination. Either the examination of only the major subjects should be conducted or the examination pattern should be changed to objective type questions. At the same time, the central government has also proposed a third option so that the states can be allowed to conduct the examination in the current situation. Uttar Pradesh – Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UPMSP) has canceled the Class 10 board examination in view of the outbreak of Kovid-19 epidemic. Now Class 10 students are to be evaluated on the basis of internal assessment and pre-board results, while Class 12 board examination is expected to be held in the month of July if the situation is normal. The final schedule is yet to be announced.

Rajasthan – The Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan has not yet taken any decision on the Class 12 board examinations. Unlike other states, the Rajasthan government has not yet taken any final decision on the Class 10 examination. However, it is being expected to take a final decision by June.

Madhya Pradesh- Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) will also take a final decision on the MP Board Class 12 examination in the first week of June. State School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar has given this information through a tweet after attending a high level meeting on 23 May. The MPBSE class 12 board exam schedule will be released keeping in mind both the health and safety of the students.

Chhattisgarh Significantly, the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has become the first state in India to release the 12th grade exam schedule amidst rising coronavirus cases. Here the board has announced to conduct the exam in open book mode. According to the latest notification issued by the board, students will be able to take the Class 12 examination right from home. Students will be provided question papers and answer sheets from the respective centers for selected subjects from June 1 to June 5. After receiving the question paper, students will have to submit their answer sheets to the school within five days.

Maharashtra – In Maharashtra too, the final decision will be taken this week for the conduct of the 12th examination. School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad had said in this regard that after the high level meeting on Sunday, the decision on class 12 board examinations will be taken in a week. He also said that the board can explore the option of “non exam route” for Maharashtra HSC exam due to the prevailing epidemic situation.

Punjab- Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said that in difficult times the safety of students and teachers should be the priority of the government and every possible step should be taken in this regard. The minister has suggested conducting only three optional subjects exams.

Haryana The state of Haryana is ready to start the class XII board examinations from June 15 to June 20. State Education Minister Kanwar Pal said this after a meeting with representatives of the Center and the states on Sunday. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Pal said, “Under the leadership of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, there was a meeting with education ministers, secretaries and board presidents of the state and union territory, and the board examinations. Suggestions were sought from everyone regarding the event. The minister said, “We want the date sheet to be released 20 days before the exam starts. We had earlier announced to hold the class XII exam from June 1, but Corona It was postponed due to increasing cases of infection. Now we have informed the Union Minister that we can start the exam from June 15 to June 20. “
