Ten PhD students of the University of Hyderabad have been selected for the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF). Under the PMRF scheme, all ten fellows will get a monthly fellowship of Rs 70,000, which can increase up to Rs 80,000 by the end of PhD. At the same time, students should have good performance during PhD. In addition to the monthly fellowship, a research grant of Rs 2 lakh per year will also be given to each fellow.
For the PMRF, two scholars each from School of Chemistry and School of Life Sciences have been selected, while three students from School of Engineering Sciences and Technology and School of Physics have also been shortlisted.
University has issued this statement
The university statement said that a total of 18 PMRF fellowships were allocated to the University of Hyderabad (UOH) for the PMRF 2020 cycle. However, in the current selection, UOH has been awarded an additional fellowship.
