Punjab: Education Department will soon launch ‘Punjab Career Portal’, students will get better career guidance


To help students choose better careers, the education department of Punjab government is going to launch “Punjab Career Portal”. Through this portal, students will be able to find better options related to career and employment right from home.

Explain that the portal is run by UNICEF, NGO Aakash Foundation and Tata Power. It will have information on at least 450 career options, 21,000 colleges and professional institutes in the country and abroad, in addition to the details of 1,150 entrance examinations and 1,200 scholarships.

Class 9th to 12th Portal designed for students

There will be a special focus on integrating the syllabus with Life Skill on the portal. Government officials said that this portal will enable more than 8.50 lakh government school students from class 9th to 12th to proceed seamlessly from school level to higher education and work. Each student will be given a unique ID to access the content of the website.

All information related to foreign colleges will be found

The portal will have comprehensive information about career options for students, entrance exam for various colleges / universities, vocational institutes and scholarships. Along with this, this portal will help in finding eligibility, scholarship and fellowship of colleges in different countries for students wishing to go abroad for higher studies.

Portal will be helpful for teachers along with students

Before launching the “Punjab Career Portal”, the Department of Education also organized virtual training sessions as part of the “Capacity Building Program” of officers and teachers, presided over by state education secretary Krishna Kumar. During this, the Education Secretary said that the Education Department is working on ways to help students make the right career choices. He said that “The portal will be very helpful for students as well as teachers. This will further strengthen the department’s initiative to improve the quality of education in government schools. ”
