It is worth noting that out of total 1,200 registered students, 686 students i.e. 57.16% got placements in 2020-21. Whereas the corresponding figure for 2019-2020 was 692 students out of 1,060 i.e. 65.28%. However, compared to last year, more students of MA program got placements this year.
The good thing between all of them is that the average salary of B.Tech and BDS students has gone up to 21.41 lakhs per year, which is almost Rs. 79,000 more than the previous year. At the same time, the salary of MTech and MDS has also increased significantly. This year there has been an increase of about 1.70 lakhs as compared to the placement season of 2019-20.

According to the report published in the TOI, according to Dr Abhishek Kumar, head of the IIT-G Center for Career Development, according to the situation arising due to the corona epidemic in the world, the placement data should not be considered an achievement but a decline for students. He said, “They can face the challenges arising out of the Corona epidemic and make their future safer and better.”
He said, “Due to the epidemic, many types of job profiles are in demand. But many sectors are giving ‘work from home’ based assignments. “The increased popularity of online tools can be the collective reason for the increase in salary packages.”

Data submitted by the premier institute of technology says that 76.02% (444 out of 584) of the students registered in B.Tech and BDS got placements in 2020-21. In M.Tech and M.Des, 43.32% placements can be obtained, which are for jobs for 211 out of the registered 487 employees. In the placement year 2019-20, the placement records of B.Tech/B.Des and M.Tech/M.Des were 87.52% and 51.84 respectively.

The biggest recruiters this year are Microsoft, Google, Qualcomm, Oracle, American Express, DE Shaw, Enphase, Nutanix, Walmart, Adobe, Goldman Sachs and IBM. Kumar said, “We have seen an increase in recruitment with the introduction of several major startups such as Ally.io, Gainsight, Harness, Thought Sport, Chalo, Razorpay, Qure.ai and Gro.”
Explain that due to the epidemic, the placement drive in IIT-G was conducted in virtual mode. A total of 140 companies from different sectors participated in the recruitment process.

At the same time, IIT-G Placement Faculty Coordinator Bithia Grace Jaganathan said that the students got placements in various profiles like IT / Software, Finance, Analyst, Core Engineering as well as Design. Apart from this, two PSUs have hired students this year. The highest offers came from the IT / Software sector this year. At the same time the highest package was 70 lakh rupees per year.
