Jawaharlal Nehru University, or JNU, has postponed the registration process for admission to the winter semester. Registration for the winter semester was scheduled to begin on Tuesday 27 April. But keeping in mind the current epidemic situation, online registration of new students (registered for Monsoon Semester 2020) has been banned till May 7 for Winter semester 2021. This process will now begin on 8 May.
While announcing the postponement of the winter semester, the university also said that it will review the situation further, till then the date of the winter semester registration will be 8 May.
JNU has also issued strict guidelines
JNU has also issued strict guidelines to reduce the spread of coronavirus on campus. Under these guidelines, the Central Library has been closed and the residents of the hostel have been advised to return to their homes if possible. JNU has also said that those who violate the Kovid-19 norms on the campus may face legal action amid the increasing number of Corona cases in the national capital.
Ban on unnecessary movement in campus
JNU Registrar Prof. According to the notice issued by Anibarban Chakraborty, the lockdown has been extended in view of increasing cases of corona infection in the national capital. During this period, students, teachers, employees and families living in residential premises will be prohibited from entering the campus. During this time, restrictions on other types of movement have been banned, except for essential services.
A 3-day vaccine camp has been organized in JNU
At the same time, a 3-day vaccine camp has been organized in the campus to vaccinate people above 45 years of age in JNU. Camps have been organized on the campus on 29, 30 April and 1 May.
