Abhishek Sharma’s mother was posted as a clerk in the SDM office. He often used to go to his mother’s office and upon seeing the officers there, he thought of becoming an IAS officer. It was not easy, but he decided that he will definitely fulfill his dream by passing the UPSC exam. His family also had the same wish.
Come to Delhi for preparation
Abhishek Sharma is originally from a village in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. He got his early education from here. His family’s financial position was not strong, in which case he also did farming work along with studies. After graduation, he came to Delhi to prepare for UPSC. Here he joined a coaching, but after a few months he decided to go back to the village and prepare. He faced failure by reaching the interview twice in UPSC, but he did not give up and got success in the third attempt.

Abhishek’s advice to other candidates
Abhishek was studying in Hindi medium and he gave an interview in Hindi after the first attempt. They believe that if you have studied Hindi or any other medium, then there is no need to worry. You can achieve success in UPSC exam by working hard in the right direction. They believe that self study is very important for success in this exam. You can get success in this exam by preparing by staying in the village.
