Came to UPSC at the behest of grandfather
Raunak was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. His early studies also took place there. After intermediate, he enrolled in BCom. He was very smart in studies and received a gold medal in graduation. After this, he completed Chartered Accountant’s studies. Actually his grandfather always wanted Raunak to be an IAS officer. For this, he mobilized Raunak quite a lot. Impressed by his talk, Raunak decided to come to UPSC.
UPSC’s journey was like this
After completing the CA, Raunak started preparing for UPSC. His preparation was not completed in the first attempt, due to which he failed in the pre-examination itself. After this he tried again but this time also he could not succeed. In such a situation, his family supported him and motivated him to prepare further. In the third attempt, he corrected his previous mistakes and joined the list of toppers.

Raunak’s advice to other candidates
Raunak believes that to get success in this exam, you must prepare with patience. If you join this exam with positive attitude then you will be able to perform better.
