This year, the result of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) can be done for admission in many courses. Significantly, the National Testing Agency (NTA) of the Ministry of Education will conduct the Undergraduate Medical Entrance Examination on August 1. In the examination notification, the NTA said that NEET 2021 can be used for admission to BSC Nursing and Health Sciences programs. NEET 2021 information bulletin is yet to be released. Only after the release of the bulletin, more information about the nursing and health science admission process will be available.
JIPMER will not conduct separate entrance examination
Explain that the result of NEET (UG) – 2021 can be used for counseling by other entities of Central / State Governments (including Nursing Council / Nursing College / School of India, JIPMER). It is worth noting that Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) recently confirmed this, saying that it will not conduct separate entrance examination for the admission of Nursing and Life Sciences. Instead, NEET-UG scores will be used for admission to these courses.
The institute has stated that admission to the BSc Nursing and Allied Health Science Courses at JIPMER for the academic year 2021-22 will be based on the merit score of NTET (UG) 2021. “JIPMER will not conduct any separate entrance examination for admission to BSC courses at JIPMER for the academic year 2021-22. The counseling and admission process for the above courses will be done by JIPMER.
Other nursing colleges can also use NEET 2021 result
Apart from JIPMER, other nursing colleges, schools run by the state and central government and the Nursing Council of India can also use NEET 2021 for admission purposes.
By 2020, NEET UG was organized for admission in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS) and Veterinary programs. Every year, more than 1.5 million students appear in the entrance exam.
