In the second wave of Kovid-19 in the country, cases are increasing rapidly. More than one and a half lakh corona infection cases are coming out in the last three days. In view of the current situation, the board exams of 10th and 12th have been canceled in the state of Maharashtra. At the same time, the Delhi government has also appealed to the central government to cancel the CBSE board examinations. But the Ministry of Education seems to be sluggish in the cancellation of CBSE’s 10th and 12th examinations. However, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Ministry of Education have also held a meeting in which several aspects of conducting the board examination have been discussed.
Final decision on cancellation of board examinations is yet to come
According to information received from sources in the Ministry of Education, at present there is no plan to cancel the board examinations. However, there was a discussion on postponing the CBSE Board Exam 2021 in the meeting. But no decision has been made on this and a final decision has not been taken on this matter yet. It is important to note that CBSE board examinations are to be held in May. However, since the cases of corona infection are increasing in the country, the ministry is rethinking about conducting these examinations. Guidelines related to fresh COVIDs are also expected to be issued.
Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have also demanded cancellation of board exams
At the same time, there has been a demand for postponing the examinations of CBSE Board. To cancel or postpone the board exams, a large section of students and parents are also running campaigns on Twitter. Not only this, many leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have also demanded to cancel the board examinations.
Maharashtra board has canceled its board exams
Significantly, the Maharashtra board has recently postponed its board examinations and has also requested the CBSE, ICSE, IB, Cambridge boards to reconsider the exam dates. At the same time, Shiv Sena leader Arvind Sawant has written a letter to Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and demanded a uniform policy for the board exams of class 10 and 12 in states and boards. Sawant said that amid the increasing cases of Kovid-19, a general decision needs to be taken by the Union Ministry of Education to ensure that no student is at a loss.
At the same time, many other boards including MP Board, MSBHSHSE have postponed the examination to be held in May-June due to increasing cases of COVID-19.
