Central Universities Common Entrance Test 2021: It is now planned to take a Common Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate courses in all 41 central universities of the country. Admission to these central universities of the country will be given on the basis of the entrance examination, not on the basis of 12th marks. For this, all those candidates who want to take admission in graduate courses in these Kendriya Vidyalayas have to be prepared to participate in the entrance test. It is expected that the examination will be announced by the Ministry of Education, Government of India at the end of this month.

Let us tell you that the seven-member committee set up by the UGC in December 2020 has submitted its report related to it earlier this week. This panel was tasked to recommend modalities for “high quality aptitude test” for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs at central universities. The committee has recommended that admissions in all courses of all central universities from the coming academic year should be given on the basis of Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET). In addition, the committee has also recommended that this entrance examination should be conducted at least twice in a year.

However, Amit Khare, secretary of higher education under the Ministry of Education, had stated in March that this year the general examination will be for admission to undergraduate courses only, and this examination will be conducted only once.

The CUCET is part of the new National Education Policy 2020, which states that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will facilitate single entrance examination for admission to universities across the country.
