IAS Success Story: Failed five times in UPSC, did not give up and Saurabh became IAS in sixth attempt


Success Story of IAS Topper Saurav Pandey: Today, you will tell the story of Saurabh Pandey, who became an IAS officer by achieving All India Rank 66 in UPSC Exam 2019, who achieved success after a long struggle. His story is inspiring for all. It took Saurabh a long time to get success in UPSC for about 7 years. He got failure in UPSC five times, but he did not give up and continued to work till becoming an IAS officer. At times, Saurabh was disappointed but the people around him created a positive atmosphere and motivated him to move forward. In this way, he completed his journey of UPSC.

Preparation started after graduation

Saurabh is originally from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. After intermediate, he enrolled in graduation. After earning a graduation degree, he got a job. While doing the job, he made up his mind to go to UPSC and started preparing. In 2014, he made his first attempt in UPSC, but did not get success.

After this, in two successive attempts, he could not pass the pre exam. Overall, in the first three attempts, he did not get a chance to go to UPSC Mains exam. After this, he reached the interview in the fourth and fifth attempts, but the final list did not make a name. Eventually, his dream came true in the sixth attempt.

Family and friends got support

When there was a failure in UPSC 5 times, Saurabh made up his mind to leave this area. He felt that there is no use of giving time here. However, his friends and family supported him a lot and motivated him to make another attempt. Due to the motive of all these, Saurabh decided to try his last and this time his luck supported him. In this way, he fulfilled his dream of becoming an IAS officer by achieving All India Rank 66 in 2019.

Saurabh’s advice to other candidates

Saurabh says that one should not panic in case of failure in UPSC exam and should work hard continuously. Apart from this, keeping distance from negative people also proves beneficial. If you get in touch with your close friend and family on failure, then you will feel positive and motivated. They say that there is no guarantee of success in UPSC but when you try continuously, success is achieved.
