Success Story of IAS Topper Aishwarya Sharma: Often people feel that coaching is very important to get success in UPSC, but Aishwarya Sharma, resident of Bhopal, passed the UPSC exam in a second attempt on the basis of self study. The special thing is that soon after the completion of his engineering degree, he started preparing for UPSC and after a few months of preparation, he passed the pre-examination. However, he got stuck in Mains and he got failure in the first time. For the second time, he corrected his mistakes and achieved success by achieving 168 ranks.

Aishwarya’s journey to UPSC was not very long and she got success in the second attempt. The special thing is that Aishwarya did not take any kind of coaching for UPSC preparation and relied on self study. He knew that if he had to pass the UPSC exam, then he would have to focus completely on self-study. His selection could not be done due to some mistakes in the first time, but in the second attempt, he recognized his mistakes and corrected and appeared in the exam for the second time with better effort.

Prepare with limited books

Aishwarya believes that you should have limited books to prepare for UPSC. This gives you the time of revision after the syllabus is covered. When you revise the books again and again, your confidence will increase and you will definitely get the benefit in the exam. Apart from this, test series also help in improving your performance. She says that after solving any test series, you must analyze it.

Aishwarya’s advice to other candidates

Aishwarya believes that the optional subject in UPSC should be chosen in which you feel. Despite being an engineering background, he made Economics his optional subject and proved himself by achieving success. According to him, time management, answer writing practice and good schedule are also very important for the preparation of UPSC. She says that if you go to deliver the paper with your complete confidence, then you will be able to perform better.
