UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021: The Central Government has increased the number of Indian Police Service Recruitment (IPS) from the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2020 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Under the increase made by the government, now 200 IPS officers will be recruited through UPSC Exam 2021. Till now a total of 150 IPS officers were recruited. In this regard, information was provided on 24 March 2021 by a written reply in the Lok Sabha by Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel of the Central Government.
In his written reply to the Lok Sabha, Jitendra Singh said that after the recommendations of the Baswan Committee, a total of 150 IPS officers were being recruited through UPSC Civil Services Examination since 2009, which has now been increased to 200.
In a written reply given by Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh to the Lok Sabha, it was stated that 180 IAS officers are recruited every year after CSE-2018 as per the recommendations of Baswan Committee and with the approval of the competent authority. Whereas in the case of recruitment of IPS officers, 150 IPS officers have been recruited since CSE-2009, which has been increased to 200 after CSE-2020.
