New teachers will not be recruited in Kendriya Vidyalayas this year, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal confirmed


Last year, it was announced that all schools, colleges were closed due to Corona virus, due to which new teachers have not been recruited in the central schools yet and now the Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has told that this year also no new recruitment Can be done. At present, there are 40,662 teachers in Kendriya Vidyalaya while Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has 11,808 teachers. The Education Minister has informed this in a written reply to the lower house. Education Minister Pokhriyal’s statement may bring dismay on the faces of those who were waiting for the recruitment of teachers in Kendriya Vidyalaya, now they may have to wait a full year.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the proposal to open new Kendriya Vidyalayas is considered only when the Government of India, State Governments, Administrators of Union Territories are committed to the departments. He also said that to open a new Kendriya Vidyalaya, as per KVS prescribed norms, many resources including land, temporary accommodation are required.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya gets approval

The Education Minister informed that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was approved to open in all the districts of the country on 31 May 2014, but the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme has not yet been accepted.
